Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata is also part of my favorite tracks and also one that I learned very young and have always played. But my hands being too small I could not manage the gaps of some passages. So I resumed the study of this piece with Elie Drai. Here is a first try before corrections.
Teenager, when I discovered Richard Clayderman, I found the taste of the piano. I had received his score book and I finally had some nice pieces to play. So I took piano lessons for 2 years, until I had to go to Brussels for my higher education. Nostalgia has always been my favorite piece in this book. One of the only tracks I have always played (rarely without faults though).
This is a first try, so there are still a lot of mistakes and hesitation as it is improvised for the second half. I will do a new recording when I can play it better.
I continue to learn the Summer Knows of Michel Legrand but I have arranged it in my own mood.
I found a magnificent piano arrangement of Private Investigations by Dire Straits on the “Satin Beaus” Youtube channel. As he made available the tutorial and the score, I’m trying to learn it.
A typical piece where the interpretation is very important to bring out the melody of his accompaniment.
Study in progress based on a score written by Elie Drai
Eté 42 – Summer Knows (Summer of 42) – Michel Legrand
Exercise for a harmony class, improvisation of an accompaniment. Still a lot of hesitation but it starts to come naturally.
To please a very dear friend, a simple little piece learned by ear in less than an hour
Here I am already in my 6th week of work on this piece. It starts to take shape little by little. The deciphering until the end is finished, remains to continue to train. 6 weeks ago, I never thought I could get there. I am really motivated!
