Lesson 1 - Song Intro

In this lesson, we will learn the introduction of S’il suffisait d’aimer by Céline Dion, working step by step through several progressive levels to make the piece easier to understand, memorise, and play with confidence.

We will start with level 1 in the right hand, focusing on the melody, the hand position, and the fingering. Then we will learn level 1 in the left hand, before combining both hands together slowly to build coordination and control.

Next, we will move to level 2 in the left hand, where we keep the same accompaniment but add octaves to create a fuller and richer sound. We will then practice the passage again with both hands together to improve balance and stability.

Finally, we will learn level 3 in the right hand, where we add chords to the melody to obtain a richer and more complete sound, and we will finish by playing the full introduction with both hands together, as in the final version of the arrangement.

If you are a beginner, you can stop at level 1, which already allows you to play a complete and satisfying version of the introduction.

More advanced students can continue with levels 2 and 3 to obtain a fuller sound, greater depth, and a more complete arrangement of the piece.

Take your time with each level, and make sure everything feels comfortable before moving to the next one. This progressive approach will help you play the introduction smoothly, with accuracy, balance, and musical expression.
