My Story: From 30 Years of Practice to a Lifetime of Passion

If you’ve ever sat at a piano, dreaming of playing beautiful music, only to get lost in frustrating technical exercises… I want you to know I truly understand.

My own piano journey began when I was just six years old. For decades, I practiced. I learned theory, I drilled my scales, and I could read and play complex pieces.

But even after more than 30 years at the keyboard, something was missing.

By 1999, I was an experienced pianist, but I felt stuck. My playing felt mechanical, cold. I looked at the passionate covers on YouTube and realized that while I was technically playing all the right notes, I wasn't truly making music.

This is the frustration that makes so many people want to quit. It’s also a powerful lesson I had to learn: you can practice for 30 years and still feel disconnected if you don't have the right keys to unlock your expression.

But it also proves that it is never too late to change.

 

The Turning Point: Playing from the Heart

 

My breakthrough didn't come from more practice. It came from a new philosophy, taught to me by my husband (He doesn't play music). It was a shift away from pure mechanics and toward a new way of playing, built on three pillars:

  • Listening to the music

  • Feeling the emotion

  • Expressing your own interpretation

This changed everything. I realized that the true goal wasn't just technical perfection; it was emotional connection.

I discovered that you don't need overwhelming technique to play beautiful, moving music. The key is to find music that allows you to feel and express yourself instead of just struggling with the notes.

 

From a Personal Diary to a Global Community

 

In 2010, I started my YouTube channel, initially just to share my progress with an online teacher. But a community began to form—a community of pianists who, like me, were searching for a more expressive way to play.

Your support and requests led to my first website in 2011. And in 2018, after a lifetime of playing, I formalized my unique methodology.

My catalog is now filled with music I've carefully arranged to be both beautiful and accessible. This is my core belief: you should be able to make moving music, even as a beginner, so you can connect with the feeling of playing, not just the technical challenge.

This musical journey has followed me from Belgium to London, Singapore, and now Colorado, USA. My platform has grown, but my mission has never changed:
